Bloom Britannia is a new opera, written for the town of Hastings and its inhabitants.
Involving professional opera singers, community choirs and schoolchildren, it was a lively, ever evolving piece.
The staging was basic and naturalistic, using existing features of the De La Warr Pavilion, where it was shown in the round. I sourced and created an enormous amount of unusual props and worked closely with the local choirs on their outfits, which were co-ordinated from their own wardrobes.
